Cool Kids Campaign Testimonials

"I am honored to be part of such a worthy foundation, particularly the Cool Kids Campaign and feel that it will be a positive outlet for the kids at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland hospitals as they cope with the difficulties of a cancer diagnosis. I hope to bring a smile to their face and to provide activities and events that they can enjoy with their friends and family. I plan to bring awareness to the community that these families need our support and through donations we, as a community, can do this. Also, I am doing this in memory of my friend Katie, whose family celebrated her life everyday with a smile."

"Thirty years ago, nearly all children with cancer died of their illness. Today, about 75% of children diagnosed with cancer will survive to lead healthy, productive lives. This remarkable achievement has come about through the effort of laboratory scientists and clinical investigators, as well as advancements in patient care. This success and emerging scientific advances have led to the realization that the goal of curing all children with cancer is achievable. However, every year more children still die from cancer than any other disease. For these children, time is everything and, for some, it's all they have left. Their quality of life is of utmost importance to us and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work with your foundation to develop a program that will enhance the daily lives of our young patients."
